Welcome to Utah High School Hockey! Whether you're brand new to the game or coming from another hockey program, we’re excited to have you here. Hockey is one of the fastest-growing sports in Utah, and we’re thrilled to see more players, families, and schools getting involved every season.
Starting something new can feel overwhelming, but don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. This page will guide you through what to expect, how to get involved, and where to find the answers you need.
đź“Ś Getting Started
- ✅ Eligibility: Who Can Play? All full-time high school students are eligible to play with some exceptions. Players rostered on a USPHL junior team or a college team and “billet players” are not eligible. Players turning age 20 before September 1 of the playing year are also not eligible. Students playing while living out of state are not eligible.
- ✅ What If My School Doesn’t Have a Team? A student must play for the team at the school he attends or, if there is no affiliated team in that school, for the independent team to which that school is assigned. If your student's boundary team does not have a team, your player is still eligible to play for an independent team formed from players from several high schools.
