Middle School - 13 Total Teams - Games Starting May 20th- June 17th
JV - Filling 7 Teams - Games start after MS finishes. Projecting to start June 13th - July 11th
Varsity - Filling our 11 Teams. Games start after JV finishes. Projecting to start June 14th - Aug 1st

FAQ
Is there a cap on how many players can register: Our objective is everyone skates. Having said that, ice availability is the ring leader of this program. 2024 Summer Hockey we had ~ 900 players register. We have plans for 1,000 players to register. We will try to adjust to not limit registration.
Schedule:
A specific schedule will not be available until one to two weeks prior to games starting. The number of players that register will determine how long summer hockey games are played. If we end up with 500 players, we might be done by the end of June. If we get 900 players, we might play until the first week of August.
- Middle School - Started May 20th and ends June 17th
- JV - Starts June 13th and ends July 11th
- Varsity - Starts June 14th and end August 1st.
Where will games be played:
Anywhere between SL County and Provo.
Dependencies:
- The number of USA Hockey/CEP registered coaches supporting the program.
- The number of UHSH (Utah High School Hockey) Trustees supporting the program
- The number of Team Managers supporting the program
Cost:
- Registration $212 (girls and boys)
- Goalies @ $100
Jersey: A home/away jersey will be provided. For 2025 Summer Hockey, skaters are not attached to their normal high school teams. Players keep the jersey after the tournament.
Who can register: Any skater 2024-2025 school year, 6th through 11th grade. Registration is presently limited to Utah players.
Tournament Format: Draft Style. Players register individually. There will be a Coaches draft to assign players to teams. This is a tabletop event, not players on ice. The objective - evenly matched teams.
How are players picked for the draft: Players are assigned a score base on the team(s) they have played for and how many years they have skated.
How many games: 6 games, with the top four teams playing a playoff bracket. Playoffs are planned for Varsity, Junior Varsity and Middle School.
Middle School (updated 3/20/25): There will be Middle School teams. 2024-2025 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
How many teams: This will depend on the number of players that register. Targeting 15 players and 2 goalies per division (V, JV, MS).
What is a Team: For UHSH 2025, one team could have Varsity (V), Junior Varsity (JV) and Middle School (MS) divisions. V, JV, M being the divisions under one overall team. Some teams will just be Varsity. Coach/Player registration will drive the number of teams/divisions.
When (updated 3/20/25): Targeting May/June/July. This could shift once we can confirm ice. The current plan is each division will play three weeks. MS/Girls JV first, JV/Girls V Second, and V third.
Rules thAT are not typically part of UHSH:
Gretzky Rule: Any player can score three goals per game only. Four or more goals by this player will not be recorded. After the hat trick, the player will focus on being a support player. Unlimited assists are allowed.
Game Misconduct: If any player receives a GM or Match penalty, they are disqualified from the rest of the tournament.
No check all divisions: V, JV, and MS no check. We are still playing hockey which means physical play is encouraged. Just no checking.
