Dear USA Hockey members and parents,
The U.S. Center for SafeSport has produced Youth Athlete Training courses that are available for minor-age athletes. These resources include courses for kids and youth athletes. These free online trainings are designed as an introduction for minor athletes and their parents or other caregivers.
Each course can be found HERE and requires that a parent/legal guardian create an account to provide consent for their child to access the training. Each course will take less than 30 minutes to complete. A writeable PDF certificate is available at the conclusion of each training, and parents are encouraged to write their child's name on the printed certificate. These courses are not required but are available as a resource.
NOTE: These courses are not required for participation and USA Hockey is notrecording or tracking a person’s completion of the courses.
Thank you again for all of your efforts in support of the safety of participants in USA Hockey programs.
Dear USA Hockey members and parents,
The U.S. Center for SafeSport has produced Parent Training courses that are available for parents of USA Hockey players. These courses are free and are conducted online, with age-specific content depending on the age of the parent’s children. The courses provide an introduction for parents or other caregivers to understand the importance of positive, welcoming environments in sports, to minimize the opportunities for misconduct or abuse to happen, and to know where to report abuse, should it occur. The training includes a downloadable guide for parents with age-appropriate content.
Each course will take less than 30 minutes to complete. A writeable PDF certificate is available at the conclusion of each training. These courses are not required but are available as a resource. Click on the applicable link below to access the training: www.athletesafety.org

Players entering 9th grade for the Fall 2024-25 school year are eligible to play in the Utah High School Hockey League. Players must register for the boundary team assigned to them per the UHSH established boundaries or as approved by the UHSH Board of Trustees. For the 2024-25 season, players who will eventually attend Bountiful High School and Woods Cross High School are eligible to join the Bountiful Hockey team. Additional conditions apply. See the Bountiful Hockey Player/Parent agreement. Contact the Bountiful Hockey Trustee at trustee@bountifulhockey.com to discuss eligibility.
GETTING STARTED WITH BOUNTIFUL HOCKEY
1. Register your player with UHSH for the 2024-25 season league. This step is free. Have your player's 2024-25 USA Hockey registration number on hand to complete this step. If this is the first time the player is playing hockey, they will need to register with USA Hockey at https://membership.usahockey.com. There is a $46 to $70 fee for the USA Hockey member registration and it is good through the summer 2025 season. The USA Hockey registration needs to be renewed annually for continued participation with Utah High School Hockey.
3. If this is the first time your player is participating in youth hockey in Utah, the player's birth certificate must be submitted to the State Registrar for verification of their birth year. This is only requested once during their high school years.
2. Communicate with the Bountiful Hockey trustee or Head Coach so the team leadership knows to expect your player's registration. Trustee: trustee@bountifulhockey.com. Provide the name of your player(s) who will be registering for the team as well as the player's email and mobile phone number. These will be used in the set up of your player in the TeamSnap communications software. Also, provide the name(s) of parents/guardians who will need to receive team communications.
3. Players will be required to submit proof of school enrollment to verify their team placement. You will be contacted by the team trustee or a representative of Utah High School Hockey if this is not submitted during registration with Utah High School Hockey. Reach out to the team trustee if you are unsure if you submitted this documentation. Instructions on where to submit school enrollment documentation will be provided during the UHSH registration process.
4. TeamSnap App and web versions: Parent(s)/guardian(s) will receive an email invitation from TeamSnap. Accept the invitation. Download TeamSnap to your mobile devices and adjust settings to meet your preferences for frequency of texts and emails. All team info is available via TeamSnap. All communications by a player must also include their parent/guardian or at least two adults from the team leadership. It is team's preference to have players include their parent/guardian when they "chat" with coaches , adult team leadership or other responsible adult via TeamSnap. Please help us by reminding your player of this expectation to include two coaches and/or parent when communicating with the trustee or a coach or other adult representing the team..
